In order to support the expansion of high-quality educational services for students with unique needs, resources are allocated in a manner that allows Option 3 charter schools to develop innovative high-needs programs, minimizes financial risk from extraordinary costs, builds special education infrastructure, and expands school-site capacity to serve students with special education needs. Besides direct funding for special education supports, Option 3 has allocated additional funding for both programmatic grants and high-cost assistance pools.
